Following a 5-3 loss at Phoenix on Saturday night, the Sharks embarked on three idle days for the last time this season. Once the team resumes play on Wednesday against visiting Calgary, the Sharks will have as many as consecutive days off only three times the rest of the way.
The schedule gets particularly daunting in two ways?a nine-game road trip from Feb. 12-26 and a busy 17 games scheduled for the month of March. Coach Todd McLellan is putting up a brave front.
"There are actually five teams who are going to play 17 games in March so I don't want to hear about it anymore," McLellan said. "I want our group to come to the rink and get prepared to play one game at a time."

Coming into the game the San Jose Sharks had been practically scoring at will, having compiled 11 goals in just two games since the All-Star break. The Phoenix Coyotes had been struggling up until the Sharks came into town, were able to slow down the streaking Sharks.
