pNew head coach Tom Renney rounded out his coaching staff with two familiar faces, as far as Oilers are concerned./p pTwo former Oilers players, Kelly Buchberger and Steve Smith, will be Renney's assistants./p pBuchberger was an assistant under Pat Quinn last season, but his status became uncertain when Quinn was removed as head coach in general manager Steve Tambellini's massive offseason purge./p pSmith, who spent the last two years as a scout with the Chicago Blackhawks, is back with the team that drafted him in 1981. The 47-year-old spent six season with the Oilers, winning three Stanley Cups. He also scored the infamous own goal in Game 7 against the rival Calgary Flames in 1986.
