pOffensive tackle Tony Ugoh (toe) has been waived-injured. Ugoh, a second-round draft pick in 2007, was hurt in the Colts' preseason game at Green Bay two weeks ago./p pHe started 27 of the 37 games he played in with the team, mostly at left offensive tackle. A day that started badly for Tom Brady turned out to be a pretty good one after all. After a morning crash left Brady's car damaged but the New England Patriots quarterback unhurt, he came to terms on a contract that will make him the highest paid player in the NFL. Two people with knowledge of the contract said Thursday night that Brady has agreed to a four-year extension beginning in 2011.

Superstar quarterback Tom Brady has agreed to a lucrative contract extension with the New England Patriots, giving him the highest average salary in the NFL. SI.com's Peter King first reported the news on the halftime show of the Vikings-Saints season opener, and said Patriots owner Robert Kraft told him the deal would officially be announced Friday. The deal tacks four years onto Brady's existing contract, keeping the two-time Super Bowl MVP in New England through the end of the 2014 season.
