Wizards coach Randy Wittman knew better than to start rookie Jan Vesely against Blake Griffin when the L.A. Clippers came to D.C. to play the Wizards. Vesely still has that deer-in-the-headlights look about him at times, so Wittman opted to start Trevor Booker instead. But Booker got in early foul trouble, and Vesely had to come in halfway through the first quarter.

In the end, half of the Wizards frontcourt ended up in foul trouble as the realization sank in that they had three choices?get posterized by a Blake Griffin dunk, send him to the free throw line or just back off and let him score at will.
