No news most likely is good news for Don Nelson and Larry Riley as they spend their summers wondering if they're going to be employed by the Warriors again this season.
It has been widely speculated that both Nelson, the team's head coach, and Riley, the organization's general manager, will be replaced when the club's new ownership—a group led by Joe Lacob—formally takes over control of the club later this month or in October. The question is: When will the terminations occur?
While Lacob technically cannot make moves until the sale is complete, that hasn't prevented him from potentially discussing his coach's and general manager's futures with his partners and even possibly having his "people" talk to the "people" of prospective replacement candidates.
