The NBA played just two games on Super Bowl Sunday in 2012. Both home teams won as the Boston Celtics beat the Memphis Grizzlies while the Miami Heat defeated the Toronto Raptors. The day after the Super Bowl, teams begin playing in earnest.

"With Rondo, we're a contender."/p pRajon Rondo improved significantly in his second game back from a sprained right wrist, going for five points and 14 assists in Sunday's 98-80 victory over Memphis. But he still has a way to go to get back to where he was and needs to be./p p"I just think it'll take him a couple of games to get his feet back and his speed and his rhythm back," said coach Doc Rivers./p pThe key for the Celts will be whether Rondo's teammates are willing to work with him and play at his pace./p pThe club has been notorious for getting off to slow starts, the veteran starters easing into games.

Kevin Garnett matched his season-high with 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Boston Celtics to their fourth straight win, 98-80 over the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday. Paul Pierce scored 21 points, moving nine behind Hall of Famer Larry Bird for second place on the club's all-time list, and Ray Allen added 12.

Paul Pierce scored 30 points and Ray Allen had nine of his 14 in the final quarter to lift the Celtics to a 91-89 win over the struggling Knicks on Friday night.
